The actual cause
LED lights flicker faster than the eye notices, but a camera\’s shutter can catch that flicker if the shutter speed and the light\’s refresh rate don\’t line up, especially at higher frame rates.
The quick fix: adjust shutter speed
Most camera and phone camera apps let you manually set shutter speed — matching it to your local power frequency (commonly a 1/50 or 1/100 setting) resolves flicker in most cases.
Lower your frame rate as a second option
If shutter control isn\’t available in your app, dropping from a higher frame rate (like 60fps) to a standard 30fps often removes visible flicker as a side effect.
When it\’s the light itself
If flicker persists across multiple shutter speeds and frame rates, the ring light\’s internal driver may genuinely be lower quality — this is one of the few cases where the fix is the device, not the settings.
